|OSI Maritime Systems Ltd. (OSI) is looking to recruit experienced Sales & Marketing Managers over the next year to sell complex Integrated Navigation Bridge Systems (INBS) solutions. OSI’s headquarters are in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, but the incumbent’s work location will be where-ever practical for business needs and the applicable region of responsibility. The ideal candidate will have superior knowledge of the military maritime/shipbuilding industry and will have experience selling into the naval new build and/or retrofit market. •Is accountable for achieving defined bookings targets and other non-sales related objectives as defined and agreed in objectives-setting meetings
•Develop a thorough understanding of the Company’s products, pricing, promotion and sales and marketing strategies
•Design and implement strategies to identify sales prospects in the assigned regions; sell products and services to major new and existing clients through personal and telephone contact as well as through delivering white papers, proposals, trials and presentations
•Develop effective, coordinated, well-rounded marketing and sales programs for the assigned regions, including product introduction plans and market penetration plans, that reflect the desired branding and differentiation of the Company’s solutions in different market niches, and promote the Company’s image and visibility
•Support market research and analysis; develop and recommend marketing and pricing strategies including product positioning, advertising and promotion strategies
•Develop business proposals for presentation to clients; assemble expertise from Company resources and other departments to ensure that all technical areas are covered; lead team making presentation to clients
•Consult with client to analyze and understand the client’s business needs and determine which products and services best fit the requirements
•Manage client relationships; has overall responsibility for the maintenance and development of business from existing clients; determine the degree of interest and satisfaction with Company products and services
•Plan and ensure optimum use of resources; administer and monitor use against budget
•Collaborate with other departments to ensure projects or products are delivered on time and to client quality and value expectations; identify issues and develop rationale to support recommendations for changes to organizational policies and practices to respond to client concerns and ensure seamless and effective provision of customer service
•Provide Operations with clear and prioritized requirements regarding product roadmaps and features focused on customer and market needs supported by strong business cases
•Monitor competitor sales efforts and strategies
•Attend industry forums, tradeshows and other events as required
•Represent the organization in important external business relationships with major clients and joint venture partners so that the organization's image is reflected in the most positive manner and where such contacts are critical to the achievement of sales objectives
•Adhere to the relevant policies and procedures of the Company as well as the rules set out by the domestic and international security regulations; remain knowledgeable and updated on relevant regulations
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
•Degree in Business, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent technical/business education; MBA preferred and/or equivalent relevant work experience
•10+ years within the Navy with experience in bridge watchkeeping, navigation and tactical employment of a ship’s assets
•A minimum of 5 years working experience in a company within the naval/maritime industry;

(OSI) is looking to recruit experienced Project Managers over the next year to lead complex and involved multi-disciplined Integrated Navigation Systems projects throughout the world. Located in OSI’s headquarters in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, these positions will suit individuals with drive, ambition and the desire to achieve outstanding results in a highly technical field. The candidates must have a solid educational background as a graduate in an engineering or scientific field backed up with currency in Project Management from the PMI/APM or other global equivalent. The ideal candidates will have superior knowledge of the military marine/shipbuilding industry and will have worked in or alongside the leading navies of the world in the delivery and execution of complex projects in excess of $5m. The ability to achieve results in a multidisciplinary team with complex stakeholders is a must. Global travel is expected from time to time.

The main responsibilities of the Project Manager are to:
•Provide Project Management to the delivery team through the application of best practice project management techniques
•Provide input to the bid team at the proposal stage on project schedule, risk, milestone payment plans, cash flow and project terms and conditions
•At the point of sales/ops handover, take overall responsibility for the delivery of the project to performance, cost and time constraints
•Maintain the project risk register advising the Director of Operations of project risk profile on a regular basis
•Maintain the project schedule informing the internal stakeholders of their delivery obligations and providing the customer with frequent updates on the project
•Provide routine and regular project reports to the Director of Operations to include a report on actual expenditure to budget, ETC and EAC
•Distribute work packages to the Operations and Engineering departments and monitor progress throughout the project cycle against schedule and budget; act to ensure problem resolution is taking place as necessary
•Co-ordinate design reviews
•Manage and control sub-contractors who are part of the project team
•Represent the Company at customer held project reviews and meetings
•Liaise with the Project Accountant
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
•Education: Degree in Engineering or a related discipline; PMP/APM/PRINCE2 qualified with at least 5 years post Project Manager Professional or Management qualification experience
•Experience: A minimum of 10 years experience in Maritime Engineering organizations with a minimum of 7 years in a Project Manager role involving projects with a value in excess of $5m; proven track record of project management success in the delivery of complex projects in multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder environments
•Skills: Advanced communication skills (written and verbal); strong skills in organizing and facilitating project plan work flow between applicable parties
•Other: In-depth knowledge of marine navigation systems and markets, formal business qualifications and training would be an asset, ability and willingness to travel as necessary; ability to obtain and maintain security clearance

The role involves the development of concepts through to the design and ongoing maintenance of OSI’s product lines. Located in OSI’s headquarters in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, this position will suit individuals with drive, ambition and the desire to achieve outstanding results in a highly technical field. The ideal candidates have a background in systems engineering with proven working experience in marine electronics, sensor integration and with integrated bridge systems.

The successful candidate will execute various system engineering functions throughout the life cycle of the project. The incumbent:
• Develops design concepts and generates technical proposal in response to Request for Quotation(RFQ)
• Develops System designs, performs functional analysis, defines systems architecture, defines interfaces and specification, performs trade-studies and documents the design by writing SDD, ICDs, SRS
• Performs requirement analysis, traceability and maintenance of requirements
• Designs to government standards such as the Military standards, IMO in accordance to the requirements and demonstrating compliance
• Ensures Availability & Reliability and other Logistics support considerations are part of the system design process
• Reviews obsolescence issues and recommends design changes
• Attends and participates in customer design reviews and acceptance events
• May participate in system integration tests, trials, and acceptance tests at customer facilities
• Manages scope of work, schedules the work, estimates the effort, the costs and identifies technical risks; effectively communicates status on a regular basis to management
• Works in both a team environment and independently with minimum supervision
The incumbent has experience in working with various organizations and system components (software engineering, hardware engineering, integration and test, production, manufacturing and logistics) and can take on the technical lead of a project.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education: Degree in Systems Engineering or related field or equivalent experience; eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada
Experience: Minimum of 10 years engineering experience, 3–5 years of which is experience in systems engineering; experience in marine electronics and integrated bridge systems; experience in defense or government domain preferably in Naval ship sector.
Skills: Proven track record in the timely delivery of engineering related projects; good knowledge of marine navigation and tactical sensors or systems; excellent knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, standards and best practices; working experience in network design and architecture; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; familiarity with requirements and verification management tools such as DOORS; knowledge of safety engineering and human factors engineering is an asset.
Other: Eligible to obtain and maintain a NATO security clearance; willing and able to travel
