The Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) is pleased to welcome members of the media to CANSEC 2017. Accredited media will be issued a non-transferable media pass that will allow full access to the trade show.
Our goal is to ensure a professional environment for media, exhibitors, trade show attendees and CANSEC staff. We request that all media complete the registration process in advance of the tradeshow to ensure that individuals seeking a media pass are working journalists or technical support staff representing recognized media organizations.
CADSI welcomes the use of photography and video throughout CANSEC. However, we remind all media that due to the sensitive and competitive nature of the industry, not all participants will welcome having their faces or products recorded or photographed. It is CADSI’s policy that, prior to recording or photographing a person or product, media should ensure they have consent from the person or persons responsible.
The following persons will be considered for a non-transferable media pass:
- Members of established local, national and international media organizations with relevant identification; and
- Individuals holding a letter of assignment on the official letterhead of a media organization signed by the publisher, assignment editor or bureau chief. The letter must specify the name and title of the journalist, and the period for which accreditation is being sought.
Members of online media must also belong to a registered corporation, such as a media organization, and have a specific, verifiable non-web address and a telephone number; the online publications requesting accreditation for its correspondent must have a substantial amount of original news content or commentary or analysis on defence and security issues.
Note: Online publications that are outreach organizations, advocacy organizations as well as on-line publications that exist primarily for advocacy purposes may not qualify for media accreditation.
Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis and the decisions of CADSI are final. CADSI reserves the right to deny or withdraw the media pass of journalists who abuse the privileges extended, put the pass to improper use, or act in a way inconsistent with the spirit of the event. A media pass is at the pleasure of CADSI and can be revoked at any time.
Once registration has been approved, the journalist will receive a confirmation email advising of the time and place the pass should be collected. When collecting your pass, you must present proper media credentials and valid picture identification.
