BAE Systems’ new Canada boss interviewed
BAE Systems has posted an interview with its new General Manager for Group Business Development in Canada on its updated Canada website. In it she talks about the company’s long-term partnering approach and commitment to Canada, saying she wants BAE Systems to be “part of the industrial furniture”.
Caroline Elliott explains that this is important not just for local economic benefit, vital as this is, but to help ensure operational sovereignty – the ability of a nation to be as close as possible to self-sufficiency in defence.
One of Elliott’s recent tasks was to organize a partner day for Canadian industry in Ottawa so that BAE Systems’ Close Combat Vehicle (CCV) team can “hit the ground running” should it be successful with its bid.
