Government of Canada Publishes Updated Principles for Management of Intellectual Property (IP)

After close consultation between CADSI; Public Services and Procurement Canada; National Defence; Innovation, Science Economic Development; Fisheries and Oceans Canada; and the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada, the Government of Canada has recently published an updated set of principles for the management of intellectual property in defence and marine procurement.

These principles lay the foundation for enhanced strategic planning of intellectual property and future procurement modernization efforts. Based on the new principles, the government will develop IP management strategies to secure needed capabilities, while ensuring value for money and helping the industry foster technological advantages and economic benefits.

The 14 principles for managing intellectual property can be found here.

CADSI will continue to collaborate with government and our partners on tools and guidance on intellectual property management strategies.
