New Opportunity: Sales Assistant

 

​The Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) is looking for a highly organized and motivated Inside Sales Assistant to join our dynamic team in downtown Ottawa.​

 

Status: Part-time, short-term contract (3 months)

Salary: $18-25/hr

Your Mission

The Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) is seeking a motivated Sales Assistant to support the business development team during our busy spring period, leading up to our flagship events: the WiDS breakfast, the CAF Outlooks conference, the CANSEC trade show, and select international events.

 

Core Responsibilities

Reporting to the Business Development Director, the Sales Assistant will manage the process of qualifying sales leads (inbound and some outbound), inputting customer data into our client relationship management (CRM) database and generating pipeline reports from HubSpot. In addition, for qualified sales leads, the Sales Assistant will manage the process to create bespoke contracts with the CADSI design team and ensure sales contracts are properly templated into our DocuSign e-signature tool.

As a CADSI Sales Assistant, your work will include:

  • Email support
    • Review client/member enquiries and email replies
  • Client Relationship Management (CRM)
    • Monitor customer emails, qualify sales leads, capture important data in HubSpot CRM, and update weekly reports.
  • Event support
    • Assist and support the coordination needs of our sponsorship fulfillment contracts at our flagship events, CANSEC, CAF Outlooks, Cyber and Digital Outlooks, and select international events.
  • Proposal support
    • Assist in and project manage the process to develop bespoke proposals with the CADSI design team
  • Administrative support
    • Help maintain organized files, update shared resources, and support day-to-day tasks as needed.

This role values initiative, strong writing, steady time management, and a willingness to learn. You will support CADSI member/customer queries and help the team keep work organized and on schedule.

 

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Work experience and exposure in B2B sales and/or marketing
  • Professional style writing skills
  • Solid time management and comfort balancing tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with HubSpot and DocuSign software is a valuable asset
  • Experience with Office365 tools is an asset
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
  • Interest in member-driven associations, and the defence and security sector

Above all, CADSI values a willingness to learn and adapt. During this three-month, part-time contract, you will gain hands-on experience with new tools, sales strategy, and customer engagements with a collaborative team focused on continuous improvement.

 

Compensation

This is a part-time, short-term position running from February to May 2026. The hourly rate ranges from $18 to $25/hr.

 

Work Environment

You will work three full days in the office per week and gain hands-on experience with active marketing campaigns and (exhibit & sponsorship) sales program development. The role provides learning opportunities, exposure to national events, and support from a friendly and collaborative team.
