OSI Contracted to Deliver TDNS for New Build Submarine Program

OSI Maritime Systems (OSI) is pleased to announce the signing of a contract to provide the Company’s advanced submarine solution, Tactical Dived Navigation System (TDNS), for a new build submarine program.

The contracted system is based on OSI’s design being delivered to the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) as part of a recent fleet-wide upgrade program. This submarine navigation and tactical system is fully qualified to military specifications.

This highlights the Navy’s importance both for its vital role in Canada’s security and also as an ambassador of Canadian technology. Through the RCN and supported by Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy, Canadian technology is showcased globally resulting in positive economic returns.

The TDNS will include a Digital Maritime Operations Plot (D-MOP) and ECPINS Submarine. Combined, the two solutions provide a state-of-the-art tactical navigation advantage. In a submarine, where operating space is confined, the D-MOP’s hardware and a flexible system architecture is custom fitted to maximize and efficiently deliver navigational and tactical efficiencies to the crew. Further, ECPINS Submarine exploits technology by offering features that increase the submarine’s subsurface performance by being able to operate with or without the aid of sensors – a superior tactical as well as self-defence capability.

Independently certified against NATO WECDIS STANAG 4564, and the only truly third party certified naval navigation solution, OSI solutions are deployed on the submarines of Sweden, the UK, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Indonesia, South Africa, Portugal, and Brazil.
