Discovery Air Defence Services Opens Engine Test Cell Facility in Bagotville, QC

Bagotville, QC, June 21, 2013 – Discovery Air Defence Services Inc. (“DADS”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Discovery Air Inc., is pleased to announce the opening of an Engine Test Cell Facility in Bagotville, Quebec. Using a LARZAC C6/C20 Engine Test Cell, this Transport Canada Approved facility allows DADS technicians to maintain, repair and overhaul our Alpha Jet engines, ensuring the highest level of safety and serviceability. Didier Toussaint, Group President, Government Services, stated at the ribbon cutting ceremony, “In December 2005, our first Alpha Jet landed in Canada at the Montreal airport. At that time, we had to outsource our maintenance, and send any engine work overseas. We shortly began hiring, and now have over 29 skilled pilots and technicians in the Saguenay region, as well as 124 others across Canada. We no longer send our work overseas – we complete it in Canada, and we now have military forces from around the world looking to have their engines and other parts serviced at our Canadian facilities. We are extremely proud that this investment will help to generate and maintain technologically advanced jobs in the Saguenay region, while significantly increasing the availability of spare engines for our Alpha Jet fleet.” DADS is the exclusive supplier of combat airborne training services to the Canadian Forces. It provides joint terminal attack controller training to Canadian special operations and ground forces, Red Air and electronic attack training to CF-18 aircrew and navy, as well as live-fire target practice to the Canadian military. Its integrated logistics, maintenance and engineering solutions ensure that the Canadian Forces receive the level of support they require to achieve their objectives.
