High Reliability Power Supply News Letter from Gaia Converter Inc.

Welcome to our April 2013
High Reliability Power Supply News Letter.
Why Ultra Wide input range DC/DC converter matters?

The vast majority of modern high power density DC/DC converters on the market today have fairly narrow 2:1 or 3:1 input voltage ranges. However, military and avionics systems on-board fighters, tanks, commercial aircrafts, missiles ... require much wider inputs to comply with MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275 or equivalent standards. When designing for 24V, 28V, 270V power bus with variable input, including transients, spikes and drops-out, the potential supplier list begins to drastically shorten.

Meeting these requirements require some line conditioner or transient protection which additional cost and size on the board is minimized by using much wider input voltage DC/DC converters.  For over 20 years, GAIA Converter has been a pioneer in ultra wide input voltage range, high efficiency DC/DC converters with 9-45V, 16-80V and 120-480V and other 4:1 to 10:1 ranges to address the military and avionics electronics market.

With the recent addition of its 155W and 200W series, GAIA Converter continues to expand one of the widest choices of DC/DC Converter today with more than 3.500 variants from 4W up to 200W, from 4.5V up to 480V input voltage, with single, dual and triple 2.8V to 48V output options.   All have been qualified according to MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-202 environmental specifications.
